Located next to Hsinchu Science Park, Taiwan’s Silicon Valley, National Chiao-Tung University (NCTU) is the alma mata of its many company founders and employees and is the leading engineering school on the island. At the university, the Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) College and the Computer Science (CS) College are its most prominent institutes consisting of more than half of its faculty and students. Staring in fall of 2008, NCTU ECS and CS Colleges will accept enrollments into a combined program designed specially for international students. The program will offer two academic concentrations: System on Chip (SOC) or Telecommunication and Networking at bachelor, master and doctoral levels. All instruction will be delivered in English. Graduate students may be enrolled into education or research exchange options. Both graduate and undergraduate students are eligible for summer internship in the Science Park and full-time employment opportunities upon graduation. Qualified students will also receive generous scholarships based on merits or needs.
